Bug Description
Binary package hint: plymouth
After install, with the 20100406 ubuntu alternate image, the mini fails to complete boot with a blank screen and just a blinking cursor visible. If the system is booted with "verbose" or "nomodeset" as kernel parameters instead of the default "quiet splash", it completes boot to a graphical interface.
In the case of using "nomodeset", until gdm appears all that is visible on screen is still a blinking cursor.
"plymouth:
Disk activity usually stops within 1-2 seconds at most when booting with the default settings (quiet splash).

Additional notes: running 'stop gdm; plymouthd; plymouth show-splash' works fine.
Also, all I need to do for the system to boot properly is to get in the grub menu, modify anything on the kernel line (e.g. just added only one space at the end) and it worked fine. If I boot straight using the menu item, it just hangs.
