Bug Description

USB devices cannot be used after plugged.
However, if the device is plugged before booting, it works fine.
I've tried USB mouse, flashdisk, SD memory card, and external hard drives with consistent result.

So, now I have to reboot each time I want to use USB devices.

This problem does not occur in Karmic.

I also have this problem in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. When unloading the ndiswrapper module using "sudo modprobe -r ndiswrapper" USB hotplug seems to work again (but my WLAN is broken, of course).

Would be good to know what causes ndiswrapper to conflict with USB hotplugging.

Endy Muhardin,
I wonder if you would be willing to test this issue in the latest Natty release? I'd like to see if we have resolved this in any of the numerous changes since the issue was initially reported.

Thanks!

Jeremy,
In Natty, ndiswrapper is no longer required.
Module r8187se working properly, so I do not use ndiswrapper anymore.
Actually in pre-Natty, r8187se causes kernel panic, so I had to
disable it and use ndiswrapper instead.
