Cannot connect to WiFi network name (ESSID) with & (ampersand) symbol

Bug #53371 reported by Jason
2
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
gnome-network (Ubuntu)
Invalid
Medium
Unassigned

Bug Description

1 Go to Network Settings window
2 Double click Wireless Connection
3 Select a Network Name (ESSID) with an ampersand &, such as "AT&T"
4 Click OK
5 Click OK

Problem:
Wireless connection is not made.

Note:
In Windows the same wireless connection appears as "ATT" rather than "AT&T" thus eliminating the ampersand.

I haven't re-tested the problem, so I am not sure if it is still broken or
not.
