Imho, network-manager must be removed with install wicd.

Trying to connect to wireless network after Dist-Upgrade from Kubuntu 9.10 to 10.04, wicd and network-manager fight and it never connects.

I can confirm this, with Kubuntu maverick dev.
If you don't remove network-manager you can connect with wicd only with ethernet, otherwise in wi-fi mode you'll get a password error message

As this is not present only on i386 (can confirm presence on amd64) and remains in Maverick, I've changed the tags accordingly.
Further, since the dependency conflict information was present in Karmic and previous releases, I've marked regression-potential.

We aren't using the regression-potential tag anymore - regression-release should be used for both the development release and a stable release (which maverick is).
