Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I tested the installation (twice, fr & en) of Xubuntu using today's daily live. During the installation (probably language packs), I can see OpenOffice.org being configured. Afaik Openoffice.org isn't used by Xubuntu (abiword+gnumeric instead), and isn't even present on the live cd (no seeded). I'm not sure, but it might be installed because of language-support-writing-*.

It's probably not really a bug in ubiquity, but I don't know where to assign it instead...

openoffice.org-base-core install
openoffice.org-calc install
openoffice.org-common install
openoffice.org-core install
openoffice.org-draw install
openoffice.org-emailmerge install
openoffice.org-filter-binfilter install
openoffice.org-filter-mobiledev install
openoffice.org-hyphenation install
openoffice.org-hyphenation-en-us install
openoffice.org-impress install
openoffice.org-java-common install
openoffice.org-math install
openoffice.org-officebean install
openoffice.org-report-builder-bin install
openoffice.org-style-human install
openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au install

Afaik, none of them should be installed on the final system.

It's not strictly a duplicate, but I suspect that fixing bug 434173 will either make this go away or else significantly change the problem, so this is effectively blocked on that bug.

Changed in ubiquity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Medium

Since bug 434173 is fixed now, can you let us know whether this is still happening?

Yes, nothing changed (daily-live 20091017), same set of packages as described in the 2nd comment.
