Bug Description

When I switch the display to my external monitor (Fn-CRT/LCD), my monitor (Dell
2405) claims that the refresh rate is 60 Hz. However, in the Screen Resolution
Preferences 75 Hz are displayed (with no other option).

I am using Breezy Preview Release on a Dell X1 Notebook.

Same here with a Dell Inspiron 1200. With external monitor only it does 60 Hz, but in clone mode it's at 62 Hz and the
image in external it's distorted

Now that the rating of bug 17761 has changed to enhancement, I reopen this bug,
because it is not an enhancement rather than a bug. And to be honest, I don't
see what this bug has got to do with bug 17761. Perhaps you could explain, Daniel?

because this would all go away if we allowed separate configuration for the
inbuilt laptop LCD and external displays
