simple-ccsm depends on ccsm (that's where the ccm module lives), but the package has no dependency on compizconfig-settings-manager. Confirming & removing the 'private' flag - there doesn't seem to be a core dump or other potentially sensitive info here.

As per Chris Halse Rogers, confirmed in the Hardy Alpha 5 Live CD (where I'm typing this from :) that installing compizconfig-settings-manager makes simple-ccsm work.

That should not happen anymore as I just added that dependency information to simple-ccsm.

Mirco Müller: I'm testing the Hardy Alpha 6 Live CD now (again, where I'm typing this from :) The version of simple-ccsm in the repos that Synaptic installs is 0.6.99+git20080224-0ubuntu1 (see http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/simple-ccsm) and compizconfig-settings-manager is *not* a dependency. Fortunately, as before, installing compizconfig-settings-manager makes simple-ccsm work.

Please check to see what happened to the changes you made since they haven't been applied in the repository! (do they perhaps need approval from somebody to go through?)

Do you mean when you install compizconfig-settings-manager?

Ah! I see now:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/simple-ccsm
"simple-ccsm (0.7.2-0ubuntu1) [... depends on] compizconfig-settings-manager (>= 0.7.2)"

Just tested it in the Live CD and yes, it works now! :-)

With the dependencies in simple-ccsm fixed in version 0.7.2-0ubuntu1 the problem doesn't happen anymore! :-)
